William J. Corcoran is of counsel with this law firm and concentrates his practice in areas of civil litigation, personal injury law, landlord/tenant law and construction litigation. He was born in Newport and received his B.A. degree from the University of Rhode Island, where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He received his J.D. degree from Northeastern University in 1988 and was admitted to the Rhode Island Bar in 1988 and the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island in 1993. He is a member of the Newport County, Rhode Island and American Bar Associations and serves on the Newport Redevelopment Agency and the Cliff Walk Commission. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Newport County Chamber of Commerce and a number of philanthropic organizations. He is the owner and Chief Operating Officer of the Newport Tent Company.
